Disable Windows XP Automatic Update
Sometimes it might be a good idea to wait on downloading
fixes. You never know when a fix is going to ruin your otherwise
functional operating system. You can always get new fixes at the
Windows Update site, and you can pick and choose the updates you
want. Just do the following to disable automatic update:
Right click the My Computer icon on the desktop and click
Properties
Click the Automatic Updates tab
Select the Turn off automatic updating. I want to update my
computer manually option
Click Apply and then click OK
Restart your computer
The only updates to your computer will be those that you want to
install. |
