Before Using Disk Defragmenter
Before using defrag. empty all folders such as the temp, temporary internet files, cookies, recycle bin and delete all the old email from all folders. Then compress the mail folders by using File-Folder-Compact all folders. Shut down your screen saver (and all  programs) before running Defragmenter.  Running programs will often make defag. hang or take forever to complete.
